Clean Up Day!

Hello Folks,

It's that time again. We will be cleaning Windy and Golden Jubilee
roads this Sat. 2/9/08 starting at 8:30 AM at the Fastnaught's house.
There will be a lite breakfast and then we will start. As a reminder
please bring gloves. The clean-up usually take about a hour. We thank
you in advance for your help.

N6447Q Back in the Air!

I received this video from the current owner of my old plane, N6447Q. As most of you know it rolled down a hill backwards and was totaled by the insurance company. It has been repaired, and the new owner is as happy as can be. Says it flys great, and he has added an engine analyzer to the panel. The only problem that he has had was the Generator went out after he bought it. Same problem I had when the accident happened.

New! Gone Flying Section

When pilots get together, we always love to talk about airplanes or about a destination that we discovered to fly to. With that in mind, I'm asking of all of you, the next time you go out and find that perfect $100 hamburer stop or really nice destination, to share it with us via the Whiteplains blog. If you happen to have your digital camera with you, take a couple of shots of the event and send it along with a short description of the trip or event to: duckey123@hotmail.com and I'll see that it gets posted to the blog.

To start it off, Bill Como and Don Cook took a trip to (RWI) Rocky Mount, NC after reading about the open house this past Saturday at RWI.

Hosted by Air Care Aviation Services, Inc. featuring a display of the new Cessna 350 /400 Aircraft. The new Cessna's featured the industry-leading Garmin G1000 with the new Garmin GFC700 autopilot, like the rest of the Cessna line-up. While these new avionics are the best in the industry, the enhanced ergonomics and design changes of the 2008 Cessna 350/400 model cockpits have to be seen to be appreciated. Showcasing a functional cockpit of the NEW Cessna 350/400 with the G1000 and Cessna-exclusive ReadyPad. The event ran from 10AM to 4PM, with GOOD FOOD, BEVERAGES AVAILABLE, and 50 Cent FUEL DISCOUNTS FOR FLY- INS.
By noon the place was packed with people. Guess free food really brings out the folks.
We meet some nice people, one was even considering buying the Columbia 350.
Thanks Air Care for the great food and nice display of Cessna airplanes.

Short Photoshow of Pilots Meeting

During last nights pilots meeting, Jim Wheat was elected for a two year term as President, with Jack Fastnaught, V.P.. Congratulations to each of them!

We'd like to thank Ray Hill for donating our doorprizes for the meeting.

Micah Froese announced a runway work day this coming Saturay at 8 am meet at the shed. Everyone is welcomed to come out and help maintain the runway.

Dennis Ramsey gave us an update on the upcoming Bahama trip in February and handed out some customs forms.

Guest speaker was Lt. Col. Don Lang that gave a good insight on what it was like to be a young fighter pilot during WWII flying the P39N and other planes during the Vietnam war. We hope to have him back again to continue on with his adventure as a Fighter Pilot.

Runway work day!

Fellow Whiteplains Pilots,

Several areas beside the runway are in a dire need of fill dirt. Thanks to the generosity of Jeff Cargile, we now have an ample supply of dirt to fill in these low areas. This Saturday we will have a workday to spread this dirt out along the runway, and plant winter rye grass to stabilize the soil. Everyone is invited to help. We will meet at the tractor shed at 8:00 AM, and start spreading dirt and seed.

See you there,

Micah Froese
