Build your own ADS-B Ground Station

Do you want to build your own FlightAware PiAware ADS-B Ground Station?

You can now build and run your own ADS-B ground station that can be installed
anywhere and receive real-time data directly from airplanes on your computer.
Your ground station can run FlightAware's PiAware software to track flights within 100-300 miles (line of sight, range depending on antenna installation) and will automatically feed data to FlightAware. You can track flights directly off your PiAware device or via FlightAware.com.
Users sending ADS-B data to FlightAware will see live (non-delayed) data, have their own data highlighted on FlightAware track logs, see additional information on ADS-B from elsewhere, receive custom statistics and more information on ADS-B sites around the world. As a thank you for your contribution to our community, FlightAware offers a free Enterprise Account (USD$89.95/mo value) to users who share their data.

Getting started is fast and easy!

Using the instructions below, the process should take about two hours and the parts cost about USD$100 / EUR€80.

Already running dump1090 on a Raspberry Pi?

View the PiAware installation page to install the latest version on your Pi.

The Board Of Directors took advantage of this meeting to present, Gwen and Rich Mochak, a certificate of appreciation, for all the work that they have done to make Whiteplains Phase I entrance look outstanding.

See pictures below.

Next month, the Gardner's have agreed to host another "Cover Dish Potluck".  Date to be announced later.

K-Club.....New Attendance Record

We are pleased to announce that we broke yet another attendance record at K-Club this morning.  As you can see, we filled all 20 of our regular seats and for the first time ever, we spilled into the overflow area.  Don’t worry too much about Bo and Tony sitting by themselves…………..we move around a lot and their solitude did not last very long.

We were honored to have grandson Rian Rassette join us for his very first time at K-Club.

Wings Over Harnett Airshow

Below are a few pictures and video from the Air/Car Show this past weekend in Erwin, NC.  They had a great turn out, lots of people showed and a good number of planes flew in.  Great weather, with blue sky.  What more could you want?

Posie new ride in the background?
Some of the planes on display.
If I win the lotto....guess what I'm going to buy?

Nothing like a chopped VW Bug.  Nice car.

Car at left looks like it is looking at you....don't you think?

I almost had a car just like this when I was a teen.

Looks like ISIS was already here.

Nice looking Mooney.

After a enjoyable visit, time to head back home to Whiteplains.

News from England

Our friends Dick and Judy Hitt are vacationing in England, and here is a photo of them driving a new Morgan 3-Wheeler.
They cost about $40,000 over there, so I am sure Dick will be bringing several of them back home!
