Plane Crash near SC99 2-6-2026

The plane, a Cirrus 22 took off from Columbia Airport (CAE) at 9:05 AM destination being (DCU). Reaching 8,000 the plane's engine lost power. He was able to locate Whiteplains airport (SC99) and attempted to make an emergency landing. Tracking data was lost at 9:20 AM. Unofficial reports that one person died and one person is injured.

Removal begins.
The person killed was later identified as Andrew Frederick Nichols, a 30-year-old Huntsville, Alabama,
resident. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The pilot was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
