Thank
you to an amazing group of volunteers who completed the crack sealing
of the runway in 4 hours. Thank you Bill Como, David Crone, Jim
Franklin, Mike Knox, Steve Mestler, Mike Moore, Don Nowakowski, and Tony
Scribner. I appreciate your hard work and great attitude! Protecting
the runway is key to protecting the value in our homes and keeping
future repair costs down. Well done!
And thank you to everyone who shut off their sprinklers!
Overall
my assessment is the cracks need less filling each time we do it. The
first time we did it we used way more sealant than we used today. I
was pleased with the condition overall when I inspected the runway prior
to the work. And we found very few new cracks. As everyone knows
we will have to spend over $300,000 to resurface the runway when that
day comes. Keeping cracks sealed and surface seal coated periodically
can defer this significant expense.
