Dick Hitt makes national news.
Since its inception in 2007, more than 2,000 pilots have received the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award from the FAA. The award, which recognizes 50 years of accident-free flying, consolidated several similar pilot awards, such as the Golden Eagle Award, that had been presented by various Flight Standards District Offices over the years. The award includes a certificate and pin. In addition, the recipient’s name is added to the Roll of Honor at FAASafety.gov.

Greenville-Downtown Airport Park Project
Hi all,
We just received the attached color rendering of the future park at GMU. We thought that you might like to see it.
The runways shown are not the real ones, they will be in the park! The plan is to have a "taxiway" around the park for people to use for exercising; a natural amphitheatre for viewing the real runway action and to use for school trip lessons; a picnic pavilion; a plane fuselage that will serve as the entrance to the park; airplane wings over benches that will serve as shade structures; and of course some play equipment surrounded by lots of open green space!
We think the park will go a long way in helping to inspire people to love aviation, educate them on the role of GA in communities and towards greater community relations with the airport's neighbors.
Please feel free to share it with your family, friends and coworkers. You can follow the park's progress at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Greenville-Downtown-Airport-Park-Project/143178025715431 and
We are throwing a big fundraising party. See http://www.greenvilledowntownairport.com/Park.html for details. Hope you can attend!
If you would like to help us build the park, please see attached flier.
Hope you are having a great day!

SCBC Pot Winner
And the winner is...... Lets just say he lives at Whiteplains. Don't want the IRS to spoil his fun.
Several of us from our airpark traveled to nearby Hamilton/Owens airport yesterday for the South Carolina Breakfast Club. Some went by air, some by car, and we all had a good time. One neighbor had a GREAT time, as he came home with a fist full of ill gotten gains from the Breakfast Club lottery. We are withholding his identity, as we are certain the IRS will be searching for him in order to issue a 1099. You can see more photos taken by our official Breakfast Club photographer Valerie Anderson on the South Carolina Breakfast Club Facebook page:

Hangar Move for Ray Sheffield.avi
Video by: Don Cook Phots by: Steve Sanderson
We had a nice turn out to help Ray Sheffield move his stuff from his hangar at Twin-Lakes to Whiteplains this past Thursday morning. Had a great breakfast before the real work began. Thanks Ray for paying for it. After everything was moved, several of us went over to Ed Fishers hangar to help put up his new hangar door device. Video of that at a later date.
Update:
Steve: Please express to the "crew" our thanks and appreciation for the assistance and teamwork.
It would not have happened without your support, I hesitate to name names for fear of forgetting
someone. However, you were all most helpful and I appreciate the response from the "crew".
My move would not and could not happened without your help. I did not expect that the steel
"plate" could be moved but with all the great help it did happen.
(Perhaps this was a training session for the removal of the cruise ship!)
Thanks again!
