1st Annual Soup Cook Fest
Video by: Don Cook
Thanks to all who came to the first "SOUP OFF". We had plenty of soup, dessert, and good fellowship. I am pleased to announce the "winners". Third place went to Bobbi Crimm, second place to Peggy Como, and first place to Ann Cargile. A "BIG" plus to our gathering was the fact we raised $111.70 that will be donated to the Gilbert Fire department. It was decided by those in attendance that we would like to do it again next year. The target date for the 2013 SOUP COOK OFF will be the Saturday before the Super Bowl. After hosting this event I have decided to change the name from "SOUP OFF" to "SOUPER CHEF". Just ask Ann Cargile to show you her plaque from last night and you will know why!
Hope to see you at the next 2013 "SOUPER CHEF" contest,
Mike Moore

It's a long way from Soldotna, Alaska
Greetings from Tanner, Alabama where Festus’s 1968 Mustang has lived for the past 10 years. He bought it almost 15 years ago in Soldotna, Alaska. Today it was finally retrieved from the farm yard. We replaced all four tires and loaded it on the car trailer. The right front tire locked up so it took longer than expected. Thanks to Bill and his brother-in-law, there was extra brute force help for the task. Here is a FB page of photos that show the retrieval.

Barron 55 Lunch Flight to Greenville.avi
Video by; Don Cook
Lunch flight to Greenville airport turned into more than we all planned for when the number two engine wouldn't turn over. Turned out the started died. Phil had a spare back home. John Gardner called Jack Fastnaught to see if he could fly the starter over to us. Sure, said Jack. Not only did Jack show up but Bob Gillman flew up in his plane in case the stater didn't work and we'd all need a ride back home. Tuned out the started worked just fine and we arrived back home safe and sound.
