 Wanted to share some pictures from before the silent auction & after.  Special thanks to Steve Mestler that spearheaded this undertaking and to all the people that pitched in to help pull this off.

Scott Morrow plane has arrived on 10-08-2020.

 This afternoon a small truck, (really?) arrived with his kit plane. The 28 foot truck turned out to be the size of a moving van so a new course of action was needed to get his plane out.  With quick thinking a plan was devised to go down to the truck and unload the plane parts to the Whiteplains trailer. Thanks to a large group of fine Whiteplain residents that showed up the plane was unloaded from the truck onto the trailer and taken to his home where it was unloaded.   After, Chicken Wings and beer were served by Scott's wife, Cheryl. I overheard Scott say that the plane should be completed in short order.Time well tell.

Update: 2/3/2020

Thanks to all who came to our 9th annual soup-off fellowship fundraiser. The number of participants were down this year due to sickness and prior commitments. We still raised $385 dollars and some donations are still coming in. Special shootout to those who have contributed even though you couldn’t attend! Sue Kelly took top honors once again. Second and third place went to Patrick Hoffman and Denise Bryan. Thanks for all your support and to Jack Fastnaught for donating turned wooden bowls for the silent auction. There will be some surprised families to find their unpaid lunch debt paid off!

Whiteplains Announcements List - Annual Soup-off

We are planning our annual soup fellowship/competition Saturday, February 1. We will start promptly at 6:00pm. For those who are unfamiliar with this event, we judge the best soup by voting. (Hint- we don’t care if you vote multiple times for your spouse). Each ballot will cost $1. Money raised goes to pay delinquent lunch accounts in Gilbert schools. If you don’t want to make a pot of soup you can bring a dessert, bread/crackers, a soft drink, etc or just come!  We will furnish water and tea. The winner of the competition will take home the coveted “Golden Ladle” plaque. I think this is our eighth year and we hope you will come.
