Street Sign Re-Installed
Steve Sanderson and Don Cook Installing Street Sign
When Steve Sanderson dropped by, I put him to work helping me re-install the street sign that was knocked down last year. I think I'll get some reflector tape and wrap it around the light poll. If they can't see the poll with a light on top of it, maybe this would help make it more visible. 4-22-2010

N6447Q visits Whiteplains after 3 years.avi
If you missed seeing N6447Q come in this morning around 9:15 AM, I made a short video and slide show. It has been three years and one month since N6447Q left Whiteplains on the back of a flat bed trailer. It now sports new tail feathers, new interior, and a few other items that Bill has added since he purchased her in Tennessee. Over lunch, at Flight Deck, we managed to do a lot of airplane talk. Thanks Bill, for letting me see her one more time. It was a real treat for me.

Memorial service for Sheran Ann Murphree Wheat
For those Whiteplains Neighbors remotely located and those that do not receive The State Newspaper; here is Sherri's obituary.
Please keep Jim, Leah, Debbie and Judy in your thoughts and prayers. Sherri's "sparkle" will surely be missed in the neighborhood.
GILBERT - A memorial service for Sheran Ann Murphree Wheat, 63, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to S.C. Oncology Associates, SCOA Cares Foundation, P.O. Box 2046, West Columbia, SC 29171.
Sherri was born September 15, 1946, in Mobile, AL, and passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010. She was a daughter of the late Kenneth Edward Stewart and Nyda Ann Hathaway. On Saturday, March 6, 2010, Sherri and Jim Wheat were joined together in the eyes of God. Sherri was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church. She loved her grandson, flying in their Commanche 250 and water skiing. Sherri was a fun-loving prankster. She was very loving and always had a smile on her face. Amongst her new adventures was riding with Jim on their new Goldwing motorcycle.
Sherri is survived by her daughter, Leah Crocker of Gilbert (Kirt); sisters, Debbie Brown of Inkom, ID,; and Judy Snell of West Jordan, UT; grandchild, Kade "crumb cruncher" Crocker; additional aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved pets, Babe and Boy.

Gate work in progress - 3-8-2010
You might have noticed that the front gates for Phase One are down. Thanks to a group of Whiteplains volunteers they have been removed. Next step is sand blasting and then powder coated. Once painted, they well be reinstalled. At this time, it hasn't been decided when or if they well be hooked up.

Gone Flying - Lake City, SC
Check out the latest "Gone Flying" video, this time to Lake City Airport. We stumbled onto one of the best kept secrets, the Foodscapes Cafe that is located right on the field. It is run by Kathereine Fridl and a very nice staff members. They also have a resturant in town called the "Railway Charcoal Grill". She told us that they have some really good steaks. They well get you and your party to the resturant, so transportation isn't an issue if you fly in. On top of all of this, they give all pilots a 10% discount. They have fuel on the field as well. Enclose is a copy of the current menu. Check them out, you won't be sorry.

We went from this last night to this this morning. I checked my GPS and it still says that we are in South Carolina, but when I look out the window I wonder if that could be. This stuff should be up north.
